Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how DumpsterSidekick (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit dumpstersidekick.com or use our services. We have written this policy in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at privacy@dumpstersidekick.com and we will explain.

What we collect

Information you give us directly

If you submit a quote request, contact form, or other form on our site, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, project type, and any details you choose to share about your project.

If you are a hauler signing up for a directory listing, we collect your business name, contact person, business address, phone number, email address, service area, and the sizes and services you offer.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, we automatically collect:

  • Usage data: pages viewed, time on site, search queries, links clicked, referring website
  • Device and browser data: device type, operating system, browser type, screen size
  • Approximate location: derived from your IP address, used to show relevant local listings (we do not collect precise GPS location)
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see the Cookies section below

Most of this is collected through Google Analytics 4, which we use to understand how the site is performing. Google Analytics anonymizes IP addresses by default in our configuration.

Information from third parties

If a hauler in our directory has reviews or ratings on third-party platforms (such as Google Business, BBB, or industry sites), we may display that information on their listing. We do not collect or process that data ourselves — it comes from the third-party platform.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and improve the directory
  • Route quote requests to qualified haulers in your area (see the next section)
  • Respond to questions, support requests, and feedback
  • Verify hauler listings and respond to corrections
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., quote request confirmations, account-related notices)
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Generate aggregated, non-identifying statistics about how the site is used

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising on third-party sites, and we do not sell your information to data brokers.

How we share your information with haulers

This is the most important section of our privacy policy because it describes the most significant way we share your information. Read it carefully before submitting a quote request.

What happens when you submit a quote request

When you submit a quote request through our site, we share the information you provided — your name, contact details, ZIP code, and project information — with a small group of qualified haulers in your area, typically three to five companies. Each of those haulers may contact you directly by phone, email, or text message to provide a quote and discuss your project.

By submitting a quote request, you are giving consent for those haulers to contact you using the contact information you provided, including by phone or text message, in connection with your project. This consent is required by U.S. law (the Telephone Consumer Protection Act) for any business contact involving an automated phone call or SMS.

Limits on what we share

We share your information only with the small group of haulers selected for your quote request — never with anyone outside that group. Specifically:

  • We do not auction your information to the highest bidder. Haulers in our network pay a flat fee per lead, regardless of who pays the most.
  • We do not sell your information to data brokers, marketing companies, or anyone outside our hauler network.
  • We do not use your contact information for our own marketing beyond the quote request process.
  • Once your quote request has been routed, we do not re-share your information with new haulers later. Each request is a one-time distribution.

If you don’t want your information shared with haulers

The simple answer: don’t use the quote request form. You can browse our directory listings and contact a single hauler directly using the phone number or email on their listing. That option is always available and always free, and your contact information is never shared with anyone except the specific hauler you reach out to.

Other ways we share information

Beyond the hauler quote routing described above, we share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use third-party services for hosting, analytics, email delivery, and form processing. These providers process information on our behalf and are bound by contracts requiring them to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us. Our main service providers include Google (Analytics), Hostinger (web hosting), and Ninja Forms (form processing).
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, subpoena, or to respond to a government request — but only to the extent legally required.
  • Safety and security. We may disclose information to investigate fraud, abuse, or threats to our users or our systems.
  • Business transfers. If DumpsterSidekick is sold, merged, or otherwise transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. If this happens, we will notify users in advance and give them the opportunity to delete their information first.

We do not share your information for advertising purposes, and we are not part of any third-party data-sharing or marketing networks.

Cookies and tracking

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to function (e.g., session management, form submission). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics tracks aggregate usage. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Functional cookies: remember your preferences (e.g., search history, last-visited city) to improve your experience.

You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality.

Your rights

For all users

Regardless of where you live, you can:

  • Access the information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccuracies
  • Delete your information from our records
  • Object to certain uses of your information
  • Withdraw consent for any processing that relies on your consent

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@dumpstersidekick.com with your request and the email address or phone number you used. We will respond within 30 days.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and shared
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected (subject to legal exceptions)
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

Important note about “sale” under CCPA: California law defines “sale” broadly to include any sharing of personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration. Because we share quote request information with haulers in exchange for a per-lead fee, this may be considered a “sale” under California law. If you are a California resident and you do not want your information “sold” in this sense, do not submit a quote request — browse our directory and contact a hauler directly instead. You can also email privacy@dumpstersidekick.com with the subject line “California Do Not Sell” and we will exclude your information from any future routing.

To exercise California rights, email privacy@dumpstersidekick.com. We will verify your identity (typically by confirming the email address or phone number associated with your account or quote request) before responding.

For EU and UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR:

  • Right of access to your personal data
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Right to restrict processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Our legal bases for processing personal data under GDPR are: (a) consent, where you have given it (e.g., for quote routing); (b) legitimate interests in operating and improving the site; and (c) compliance with legal obligations.

To exercise GDPR rights, email privacy@dumpstersidekick.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Note: DumpsterSidekick primarily serves the United States market, and we do not actively market our services in the EU or UK. If you are accessing our site from outside the U.S., you do so on your own initiative.

How long we keep your information

We retain personal information only as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

  • Quote request data: retained for 24 months after submission, then deleted or anonymized
  • Hauler listing data: retained as long as the hauler is in our directory, plus 12 months after removal
  • Support and correction emails: retained for 24 months
  • Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months)
  • Legal and compliance records: retained as required by applicable law

You can request earlier deletion by emailing privacy@dumpstersidekick.com.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures include encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a security issue affecting our site, please email privacy@dumpstersidekick.com.

Children’s privacy

DumpsterSidekick is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, email privacy@dumpstersidekick.com and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Our site contains links to third-party websites (including hauler websites, Google Maps, and reference materials). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their privacy policies before providing personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the most recent change was made. Material changes will be announced on the site, and if you have an active relationship with us (e.g., a hauler account), we will notify you by email.

If you continue to use the site after changes are made, you accept the updated policy.
