Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

DumpsterSidekick (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates dumpstersidekick.com, a national directory of dumpster rental, junk removal, and portable toilet companies. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and — importantly — who we share it with.

The short version

If you submit a quote request, we pass the information you provide to local hauling companies so they can contact you about your project. That is the purpose of the quote form. Those companies may call, text, or email you.

You can opt out of that sharing at any time: Do Not Share My Personal Information.

If you only browse the site and never submit a form, we do not share your personal information with haulers.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit a quote request, we collect your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, city, project type, dumpster size, drop-off date, rental duration, and any notes you add. When you contact us, we collect whatever you include in your message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring site, and time of visit. We use Google Analytics for this.

Account information. If you create an account or claim a business listing, we collect the details you provide during registration.

Consent records. When you submit a quote request, we record that you agreed to our sharing and contact terms, along with the date, time, IP address, and the exact language you were shown. We keep this to demonstrate that consent was given.

How we share your information

This is the section that matters most, so we’ll be direct.

With hauling companies. When you submit a quote request, we share the information from that form — including your name, phone number, and email — with up to five local hauling companies serving your area, so they can contact you with a quote. Those companies are independent businesses. They are not owned by, employed by, or controlled by us. Once we pass your information to them, their use of it is governed by their own privacy practices, not ours.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Haulers may pay us a fee to receive quote requests. Under some state privacy laws, that arrangement may be considered a “sale” or “share” of personal information. You can opt out of it at any time using the link above.

With service providers. We use third-party services to operate the site — web hosting, email delivery, analytics, spam prevention, and caching. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

In a business transfer. If the site or business is sold or merged, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Your choices

Opt out of sharing. Use our Do Not Share My Personal Information page, or email support@dumpstersidekick.com with the subject line “Do Not Share.” This is available to everyone, regardless of what state you live in. Note that if you opt out, we may not be able to fulfill a pending quote request, because fulfilling it requires passing your information to a hauler.

Stop hauler contact. Once a hauler has your information, you’ll need to ask that company directly to stop contacting you. You can also reply STOP to text messages from them. Opting out with us prevents future sharing but does not retract information already sent.

Access, correction, and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@dumpstersidekick.com. We will respond within 45 days.

Analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

State privacy rights

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing. We honor these rights for all users, in every state, through the mechanisms described above.

California residents: our “Do Not Share My Personal Information” link satisfies the opt-out requirement under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, caching, and analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure traffic. Google reCAPTCHA is used on our forms to prevent spam and is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms of service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the site works.

Data retention

We keep quote request submissions and consent records for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption across the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
